Hey! I'm Hanna. Traditional photography isn't my cup of tea—and I'm guessing it isn't your either.
So let's throw out the rulebook.
I’ve got 8 years of experience with everything from weddings to music videos, a killer eye for artistic detail, and a knack for making you feel at ease in front of the camera—while still striking cinema-worthy poses.
Why You Should Have an After-Wedding Adventure Session
Menu
Here’s the thing…
You’ve probably heard at least one person tell you that your wedding day goes by fast. Well, I’m here to tell you those people are right – like, scary right. That’s why I am standing up here on my soap box telling you all about why you should have an after-wedding adventure session.
What is an after-wedding adventure session?
An after-wedding session is basically just you and your new husband or wife, having a photo session AFTER your wedding. Crazy, right? Hear me out.. after you read “why,” you won’t be able to picture anything else for your special day.
So, why should I do this?
Your wedding day is more focused on soaking up moments with your guests. By eliminating the 2 hours or so you designate for couples portraits, you can use that time to mingle with your closest friends and family who came to see you tie the knot. Not only with it help you to soak in your day, but your guests will thank you, too!
You get to put back on your wedding day attire! You can do this session the day after your special day or maybe even a month after – it’s up to you! Everyone says you only get to wear your wedding attire one time…. Whoever said that didn’t know about the beauty of an after-wedding session!
Weather or sunlight conditions not great? No problem! Say you wanted to get married in January, but really wanted some golden hour photos outside for your couples portraits. Schedule your after-wedding session for a beautiful May evening when the sun sets a little later, the weather is more “dress appropriate” and the flowers are blooming around you. Then, unlike a wedding date, you have the flexibility to switch it up if the weather isn’t cooperating on your scheduled session date.
You can go literally anywhere. Treat this like that elopement ceremony that your family talked you out of. Head to the mountains (cough cough Glacier national Park… my fave!), heck, even a different country! You aren’t limited to the scenery that your venue has to offer. Get creative with it!
You can switch up your hair and/or makeup! I don’t know about you, but I feel like deciding how to do your hair and makeup is one of the hardest parts about your wedding day. With an adventure session, you get a second chance to let your hair down (pun intended) and do whatever feels true to you.
And… It’s just so. dang. fun.
Everyone agrees that their wedding days go by too fast, too crunched for time and you may end up not even getting a piece of your own cake. Ditch the overwhelm and reach out so we can start planning an adventure session today. All I know is, I am not willing to risk not getting a slice of my own cake. Are you?
20/10 recommend a day after sesh – these photos put me right back in the feels <3
