Hey! I'm Hanna. Traditional photography isn't my cup of tea—and I'm guessing it isn't your either.
So let's throw out the rulebook.
I’ve got 8 years of experience with everything from weddings to music videos, a killer eye for artistic detail, and a knack for making you feel at ease in front of the camera—while still striking cinema-worthy poses.
Welcome!
Imagine you’re browsing Pinterest and stumble upon a picture of a stunning mountain lake, realizing it’s the perfect location for your elopement. There is nothing more magical than eloping with the prettiest alpine lake in the background, reflecting white peaks, golden sparkles of sunlight, and evergreen trees off the surface of the water. The catch? You have no idea where it actually is.
This type of place is just a picturesque scene that could only exist in your dreams, right? Well, I’m here to tell you they do exist and they’re closer than you think. Colorado has some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth—including those alpine lake backdrops you thought only existed on another planet.
If you’re looking for the perfect alpine lake for your Colorado elopement, I’ve got you covered. (p.s. none of them are in Rocky Mountain National Park, so there’s no need to worry about finding the perfect location only to realize you can’t elope there!)
If you’re looking for an easy, quick hike to a gorgeous alpine lake, Blue Lakes is the one for you! Blue Lakes is home to some amazing wildlife ( mountain goats and moose sightings galore) and located just outside Breckenridge. This simple, but totally worth it hike produces some of the most magical photos you could ever dream of—complete with whimsical evergreens, flawless mountain peaks, and waves sparkling on the water.
You get the whole package with this one. You don’t want to miss out on your chance to marry your love with this incredible lake as your background! Plus, you can bring your furry BFF along!
Lake Isabelle is a dreamy lake located northwest of Denver and just west of a little town called Ward. The trail is a mild hike, roughly 4.4 miles round trip, and surrounded by pristine pines and breathtaking mountain wilderness. It’s a prime spot for moose—you just might get a little photobomb in some of your photos!
It’s important to keep in mind, Lake Isabelle is technically a reservoir and is drained each August. This beautiful alpine lake is best suited for summer elopements. The main road to get there is generally open from Mid-June to Mid-October. Nevertheless, if you plan just right, you may just get to have this stunning lake as a backdrop to your intimate elopement!
If you’re an experienced backpacker and looking for an adventurous hiking elopement to a beautiful alpine lake, Gore Lake is the place for you! Even better, you can bring your furry BFF with you as long as they’re on a leash! This beautiful alpine lake is located near Vail and features magical wildflowers along the trail in the summer. However, this is a heavily trafficked out and back trail, so it’s best to go during the week to avoid crowds!
But I do have to express this trail is rated difficult! So it may only be wise if you are looking for a true backpacking elopement experience! (Which I am totally down for!)
The picturesque view of glittering waves and white peaks reflecting on the water you found on Pinterest? Yeah, it’s right here at the Twin Lakes. The Twin Lakes are naturally formed glacial lakes situated beneath Colorado’s highest peak, Mt. Elbert. The best part is there are so many trails around the lakes! You’ll be sure to find the trail that best suits you and your partner for your day—whether it’s a quick, easy walk to the prettiest lake view or a little bit of an adventure with a longer hike and exceptional mountain peaks!
Imagine you’re hiking through a mystical forest in the Colorado wilderness and you stumble upon a gorgeous lake with a fairytale island in the middle. And what if I told you this… it’s real and, for lack of a better name, it’s called Island Lake! The lake is located near Silverton and boasts colorful fields of wildflowers during the summer, complete with a quick 4-mile round-trip hike to dreamy, aqua blue waters. What a treat to witness such magic in nature and to have as the perfect background for your day.
A 5-mile out and back hike to Savages Lake might just be the icing on the cake for your elopement. This trail features incredible pine forest trails and wilderness alongside a stream for most of the way to the lower and upper lakes. Just imagine you’re walking through a desolate forest to a dreamy location to marry the love of your life. *insert heart eyes emoji here*
Here’s the deal though, there are so many more alpine lakes out there to choose from for your perfect day! Don’t feel pressured to pick one from this list. And if you need help planning a day full of magic and adventure, I’m your gal. Contact me ASAP and let’s get started on choosing the perfect alpine lake for your elopement!
