Hey! I'm Hanna. Traditional photography isn't my cup of tea—and I'm guessing it isn't your either.
So let's throw out the rulebook.
I’ve got 8 years of experience with everything from weddings to music videos, a killer eye for artistic detail, and a knack for making you feel at ease in front of the camera—while still striking cinema-worthy poses.
Welcome!
Okay, here’s the deal. When it comes to your wedding day, you absolutely deserve the world. This includes having sufficient enough photos of your perfect day! Who says your wedding day coverage has to end after the sparkler exit, am I right? More often than not, traditional wedding photographers tend to end their night mid-reception. Sometimes they even pack up after the first dance and speeches. But let’s be honest here, this is when the party is just getting started!
If you’re eloping, of course, the timeline of your day will look wildly different than a traditional wedding day. However, this just means there is a lot more opportunity for adventures, spontaneity, and fun well after your ceremony and portraits! Not sure whether or not you want all-day wedding coverage for your intimate wedding or elopement? Let me make my case. Here are some of my top reasons why you need all-day wedding coverage.
Every single second of your wedding day matters. Those small, in-between moments can be some of the most special looking back. When you only choose to have a half-day of coverage, you’re missing the chance for those photos to be taken into consideration. You’ll feel rushed and on a tight schedule to get in all of the “typical” portrait shots you might want.
When you opt for all-day coverage, there’s a higher chance those more intimate moments will be captured. Just think about it. If your photographer comes right before the ceremony, gets a few shots here and there, captures the vows, takes a few portraits, and maybe catches a bit of the reception, then you’re missing out on the entire rest of the day. And that means you’ll be missing out on those memories in your photos.
Something that has been making its way into the mainstream style of wedding photography is documentary-style photos. Rather than super posed portraits, photographers are opting to take a more natural, authentic approach to their shooting style. I love this style because it’s almost like shooting behind the scenes while you get to just relax and enjoy the process and timeline of your wedding day without any obligations.
Of course, no wedding is complete without a few portraits, but documentary-style photos focus on telling the full story, rather than just getting the highlights. And a lot of times your portraits feel more authentic, rather than posed with this style of shooting.
When you’ve said your vows, had the first dance, and eaten your cake, trust me when I say there is still plenty of memories left to be made. If you know anything about me, you know my love for astrophotography. And who doesn’t want a spontaneous photoshoot under the stars to end their night or a late-night plate of pancakes at your local diner? When you book your photographer for all-day, you get to have more spontaneous adventures like these. Plus, sometimes these moments you wouldn’t normally get can produce some of your absolute favorite photos of the day.
I mentioned above how documentary-style photography allows your photographer to capture the full story of your wedding day. This is one of the most important aspects of choosing full-day coverage for your wedding or elopement. If your photographer is only booked for four or five hours, they’re missing out on huge chunks of your day (getting ready with your most important people, the after-after party, the little moments in between). And trust me, no couple wants to look back and think “wow, I wish our photographer was there for this moment.”
All-day wedding coverage allows your photographer to capture the full story from start to finish. There are no missing moments, you get to look back on your photos and relive the day exactly how it happened. Just imagine how special it will be to sit down with your spouse on your anniversary, look through your wedding photos, and relive every last moment of your absolutely perfect day? I’m tearing up just imagining it.
