Hey! I'm Hanna. Traditional photography isn't my cup of tea—and I'm guessing it isn't your either.
So let's throw out the rulebook.
I’ve got 8 years of experience with everything from weddings to music videos, a killer eye for artistic detail, and a knack for making you feel at ease in front of the camera—while still striking cinema-worthy poses.
Welcome!
Choosing to elope is one of the most special decisions you can make as a couple. You’re choosing to put yourselves and your love first, instead of having a large, extravagant party the wedding industry pushes. Or, honestly, you could just be more of an introvert like me and the thought of being the center of attention for a whole day makes you feel sick. Either way, eloping is a very personal choice, and so is choosing the perfect location to exchange your vows.
Choosing the perfect location is not easy, but since I’ve been around the states a time or two, I might be able to help. One of my favorite elopement backdrops on Earth is Montana, and let me tell you, if you’re still undecided on your location, this is the place. I’m going to paint the picture for you on why Montana is the best state to elope in.
First things first, the landscape. I mean, talk about being speechless. There’s nothing quite like a sunset with the Montana horizon as your backdrop—the mountains, the nature, the beauty, oh my. If you know anything about Montana, it’s probably that it’s home to Glacier National Park, one of the most insanely beautiful parks in the United States. But that’s not all this state has to offer, the diverse, vast landscapes of Montana are seriously breathtaking. Here are a few epic locations you can choose for your elopement.
Of course, despite probably being the most popular place in Montana to elope, I still have to mention Glacier. It’s one of the most beautiful, epic, jaw-dropping places in the entire country—at least in my opinion. There’s just something so magical about this park, it feels like you’re dreaming when you’re there. There are endless places within the park to have your ceremony and so many more dreamy spots to explore.
Flathead lake is another dreamy Montana location, but not located inside Glacier National Park. It’s the largest freshwater lake west of the Missouri River—not to mention crystal clear! If you get married in the spring, you’ll be gifted with beautiful wildflowers, beach areas filled with driftwood, and incredible views of snow-capped peaks beginning to slowly melt.
Just the name of this location sounds perfectly dreamy for an elopement—Big Sky is located in the Southwestern part of Montana. It’s also neighbors to Yellowstone (the perfect post-elopement honeymoon spot?), and let’s be honest, it lives up to its name. The beautiful open sky is decorated with mountain peaks on the horizon by day and sparkling stars lighting up the sky by night.
If you’re an outdoor lover, Montana is the place for you. There are so many epic activities you can do before, during, or after your elopement. From hiking to the prettiest alpine lake you’ve ever seen to driving along Going to the Sun road in Glacier National Park, there are endless opportunities to have an adventurous, epic elopement experience.
Here are a few activities you might consider including during your Montana elopement:
If there’s one thing most eloping couples want on their wedding day, it’s intimacy. After all, you probably chose to elope so you could have a more authentic, intimate experience. There’s nothing worse than getting to your location on your elopement day and seeing a bunch of tourists around. Luckily, Montana is not known for its crazy population. In fact, it’s one of the least populated states. Much of the state is more remote and there are endless locations you can pick from that offer a private, intimate experience away from crowds and only the mountain vistas and wide-open fields as your company.
If I haven’t convinced you yet, here’s my last-ditch effort: Montana is just one of those places where you feel alive, yet like you’re in a dream at the same time. There’s no corner of the state that isn’t absolutely breathtaking. If you’re thinking about planning a Montana elopement, I can help! Let’s put together the dreamiest, most intimate elopement experience ever—contact me today and let’s see if we’re a good fit!
